President’s Message

Welcome PHS Families!

Portola High School PTSA looks forward to a new school year of exciting growth and great adventure with you.

Our Bulldog community is blessed with eager learners, dedicated staff, and caring families. Our mission is to support our community and ”positively impact the lives of all children and families” by maintaining a robust PTSA at our school. There are four ways you can help:

  1. Join – This is the simplest way to strengthen our voice by growing our numbers. It only takes minutes and you’ll have done your part for the rest of the year. Encourage your learner to join as well as an early lesson in advocating for students and families. Students are the ‘S’ in PTSA.
  2. Donate – PTSA supports many of the enrichment programs offered at Portola High. Some examples are: Reflections, Sacramento Student Advocacy Trip, Pursue Your Passion (PYT) career exploration program, Career and College fairs, Counselors’ “Wellness” Program, hosting PSAT and PreACT, Back to School Night, ASB, Campus Improvements, Grad Night, Health and Safety, Pehrson Innovation Awards, Department Grants, PBIS and PRIDE lunches, and Staff Appreciation Week, just to name a few. Any amount you can give helps enrich the high school experience for our students.
  3. Volunteer – Although our kids don’t need us for popsicle parties anymore, adult volunteers run the K-9 Student Store during lunch, Mon-Fri so if you have about an hour to give, please sign up. We can also use help during special events like Staff Appreciation Week and many others.
  4. Meetings – Stay up to date with school news, hear guest speakers, and connect with other parents by attending the General Association Meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month (September through May except December) in the Staff Lounge, Zoom, or a hybrid of the two. Everyone is welcome to attend – Parents, Students, and all Community Members.

Stay in touch at and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more information.

It’s going to be a great year. Go Bulldogs!
